‘An Afternoon by Limerick Classical Concert Series & The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition’ at University Concert Hall Limerick on Sunday March 3rd.
The concert will bring together renowned Limerick performers Mairéad Buicke, soprano, and Owen Gilhooly-Miles, baritone, alongside 2nd and 3rd prize winners from the 2022 Veronica Dunne Competition – Dublin mezzo soprano Aebh Kelly and British tenor Aaron Godfrey-Mayes. Accompanied by Dearbhla Collins and Mairead Hurley, the varied programme of operatic arias and other works will showcase the talents of these award-winning singers.

Aebh Kelly and pianist Dearbhla Collins will perform a concert full of opera, operetta and song in Castleconnell, Limerick, in association with Limerick Arts. Presented by RTE Lyric FM’s wonderful Liz Nolan for future broadcast on RTE Lyric FM.

The Mascarade Opera Showcase will take place at Teatro La Fenice in Venice where Aebh will play the roles of Clotilde in Bellini’s Norma and Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Conducted by Jonathan Santagada and directed by Pedro Ribiero.

Aebh covered the role of the Red Queen/Queen of Hearts in Gerald Barry’s ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ in co-production with Irish National Opera and The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Three women - divided by social circumstance , age, and time - are connected by one thing: desire. The objects of their desires are wildly different; all are at the centre of each woman’s life. Connecting the three is a desk at which each has at some point sat down to write in. From this desk they address their individual objects of desire directly, through letters.
